Koh Chang is mostly mountain and rainforest, with its beaches strung along the west coast: White Sand Beach in the north, then Klong Prao, Kai Bae and Lonely Beach, down to the stilted fishing pier at Bang Bao. Across the island, Salakphet and the east side stay quiet, and much of the interior is national park, laced with waterfalls such as Klong Plu.
